Child Safety Codes are Important to Enforce

Many states have their own version of child safety codes. In Iowa, for example, they have laws that the Department of Child Labor enforces in order to protect a child from working when they are too young, as well as regulate what types of jobs they may hold as minors.

In California, they have health and safety codes to protect children when they are on playgrounds. All playgrounds must meet specific regulations for the design, installation, maintenance, etc., for all playgrounds that are constructed. They have written guidelines for cities, counties, private and public playgrounds. These regulations are enforced by the courts if they are found not up to code or a child gets hurt.

Many states in this country get Federal grants as incentives to enforce child safety when it comes to booster seats and car seats. It is to encourage the safety of any child that rides in a passenger seat of a motor vehicle. Grants, in most cases, will not be made to states that do not ensure the safety of children when they are in motor vehicles.

It is also a matter of child safety when the state enforces laws regarding child support. There are many family and juvenile laws for adoption, foster care and for families that must deal with any type of violence. A childs safety and welfare are also under the topic of child safety. Some states will go to great extremes to try to enforce court ordered child support issues whereas other states may issue drivers license suspensions and warrants, but if the supportive parent is not within their jurisdiction then they do not follow it up and pursue the issue past the states borders.
