Fire Places

 

Never use a fireplace when you can not supervise it in case of emergency.

 

Never allow children or pets to play around the fire place.

 

Make sure the chimney is cleaned by a professional on a regular basis.

 

Always make sure that the flue is open before using the fireplace.

 

Make sure you regularly test and change the batteries in you smoke alarm and CO2 monitor.

 

Make sure you have a fire extinguisher close to the fireplace.

 

Keep all paper, clothing, blankets, pillows, curtains etc away from the fireplace.

 

Make sure you have a fire resistant barrier around the opening to the fireplace.
