This page is for archived information on either preventing or assisting with various medical conditions and preventing injuries. Any information you should consult with your Doctor or Primary Care Physician before using any information contained herein.
1. You should always be aware of your medical conditions and limits. Listen to your doctors advise. Don’t over work yourself in heat while gardening or mowing grass to prevent a heart attack or other conditions to flare up. In addition to using the same pharmacy for all prescriptions, make sure all of your Dr’s (i.e. Primary Care, Cardiologist, Allergist, Orthopedist etc.) all know about all of the prescriptions, over the counter medications, vitamins and herbal natural remedies you are taking.
2. Keep a cell phone or cordless telephone with you at all times when doing lawn mowing or other yard work. You will have a means of communications to call 911 in the case of a medical emergency should one arise. Also make sure someone else knows when you are doing yard work.
3. When you plan to mow your lawn, be sure to clean up your yard first. Make sure all twigs, rocks, balls, toys etc. and any other objects that can become flying debris when in contact with the mower are removed.
4. Whenever possible, use eye protection when doing yard work.
